- Requires RIDE Certification, meeting of Highly Qualified criteria, versatility, flexibility, and adaptability
- Teach and instruct students in academic subject matter, social-emotional, behavioral, and educational skill areas, individually and in groups using
various teaching methods such as direct instruction, discussion and
demonstration
- Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students, plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences, adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to
meet varying needs and interests of students
- Maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a positive learning environment in the classroom, and take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
- Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, maintain appropriate records, establish and maintain communication with parents and colleagues, and follow required procedures and practices
